How are These Experiences Deepening Our Understanding of Ourselves, Our Purpose, and Where We Are Going?
In this blog you’ll learn about six of the correlating features of near-death experiences (NDE’s), intuitive or psychic experiences, dreams that seem more real than life, out-of-body experiences(OBE’s), spiritual transformative experiences, awakenings, experiences with someone who has passed or is passing, kundalini experiences, and contactee experiences. In the rest of this blog the term ‘experiencer’ will refer to near-death experiences, intuitive or psychic experiences, dreams that seem more real than life, out-of-body experiences, spiritual transformative experiences, awakenings, experiences with someone who has passed or is passing, kundalini experiences, and contactee experiences.
When a person experiences a strong intervention that is out of continuity with their on-going life, the life they have led before their experience, it is at the least discombobulating. After the incident there are identifiable features that comprise returning to the world. All the experiences have a spectrum of how they impact the person but share similarities that are described below. Some of the characteristics are features of experiencing trauma and some are not.
- The first feature of an experience can be to file or attempt to file the experience away as best as possible. This is often because there has been no one to speak with about these experiences and/or there is a knowing to speak of these experiences would be too disruptive to their place and relationship with their closest people; friends, family, or work peers. A person must seek out a specific person or group, if there is one available, who they can share their experience. Details may be omitted purposely due to an innate knowing certain parts of their experience are just too far out for cultural acceptance.
Near-death experiencers now have a place to share what has occurred because of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), however, even there, experiencers chose to omit content for the same reason, knowing certain details are just too far out for cultural acceptance. We all innately know the most alienating and dismissive stigma is being called and treated as crazy. Crazy means you are shunned, considered incapable, and your rights can be taken away.
Even if the person does not file the entire experience away, they may file away the parts that seem so extreme, so contrary to cultural values they cannot accept them. (An example is a person who had a near-death experience but was unwilling to share for twenty years they had experiences with beings who were not human (we also call these ‘aliens’) during their NDE). These experiences may surface later, become part of a night-time dream, or show up as an aversion to something or a phobia, become an avid and/or secret interest, or come out in artwork, remain as a memory that is hidden, or become disruptive to their life.
- While a person who has an experience goes through the trauma and isolation with the experience or even parts of the experience, what is remembered will return in some form and cannot be denied. What this means is the experience still impacts the person on a deep level that changes thoughts, emotions, perceptions, relationship with themselves and perception of who they are, their idea of what is possible, changes in nighttime dreams, how to be in relationship with others and the numinous.
When people are busy with their lives, working, raising children, have tasks of helping their families, and other responsibilities they often don’t have the time and don’t want to mull over their experiences, the nuances, the way they are changed, the unsettling parts that really are off the charts and don’t fit into the current world view. But, when there are moments in time, these experiences come back. They are remembered and cannot be ignored. These moments can arise through feelings, sounds, certain feelings in the day or the night, or even from a location. A person might try to ignore the experiences by suppressing any conversation even if someone asks because they are too disturbing.
For some people, when they grow older, they may begin to speak about the experience or experiences. They feel compelled to speak about their experience before they die. They choose to no longer hold silence because they feel it’s important. Others refuse to speak of their experience or experiences ever, even when asked by a loving and trusted person.
- As identified above, there is a spectrum of how an experience impacts a person. Experiencers who have communicated with someone who has passed or is passing, or a psychic or intuitive experience are likely not to have the degree of upheaval as a near-death experience, out-of-body experience, sometimes a dream that seems more real than life, kundalini, awakening, spiritual transformative experience, or contactee experience. Most people have continuous micro spiritual transformative experiences through their lives that may seem to start at a specific time, which are less dramatic and incremental and don’t cause a radical shift but instead a gradual integration over their life.
4. Experiencers may have some or many of the following characteristics. The features described below change, become muted or                   unavailable when substances are involved. Some experiencers may choose to use substances to attempt to manage memories and the features               described below. The use of substances can create temporary or permanent loss of some of the characteristics.
- The person’s sleep patterns changes. They may no longer be able to sleep at the same time, going to bed later, keeping lights on, or noise like a TV going.
- They may wake up in the night.
- Doors to closets or to the rooms must be open or must be shut to be able to sleep.
- Within the physical body there can be a humming vibration that occurs and doesn’t go away. It is subtle but present. It is not tinnitus, and it does not occur in the ears but experienced within the entire body. This sensation may last for days, weeks, or months.
- There are sensations of expanded sensory awareness. These expanded sensory awarenesses may be auditory where they hear beyond what others hear including other realms, music, or connect through kinesthetic awareness as in touching or not touching but sensing through the hands.
- Other changes can be sensitivity to electrical items causing them to not function as in temporary or permanent stopping. Exploding light bulbs, and other electronic devices can occur. Computers can stop or die. All these changes represent a significant change in the electromagnetic field of the individual which comes back into balance with more understanding and management. Times of high intensity can initiate these changes for segments of time, or only in the onset of changes.
- Visual perception of auras may be permanent or temporary or occur at specific times around a specific person, or times of high intensity.
- A deeper connection with animals and creatures which can include animal and creature communication.
- There may also be the ability to understand concepts, scientific information, formulas, ancient theories, and sometimes languages.
- Compassion occurs and there may be a drive to share insights with others, and a deep connection to Earth, all creatures, heal suffering and uplift humanity.
- Experiences can result in changing careers, partners, geographic locations, values, and understanding.
- Another similarity of experiencers is expanded sense of reality. While the person may have been curious before their incident, often their experience expands the person’s intuitive abilities, healing abilities, and what they know they are capable of through knowing, non-verbal communication considered guidance, telepathy, intuitive, and psychic experiences. There can be a drive to communicate through artistic means. The person may have dream communication, astral travel, remote viewing, evidential medium tools where they speak and work with those who have passed, work with people who are getting ready to pass, and offer sessions where they help people deal with these issues and aspects of life, including animal communication.
- When a strong experience occurs there is a significant change in the energy system. The energy system is a composition of different systems of energy that function around, through, on, and with the physical body interfacing with all the physical systems. (You can learn about the different systems that the term ‘energy system’ describes in the blog, The Auric Field, and Our Transformation).
The image at the top of the page, shows the energy system in alignment with the physical body.Â
Above the image shows an out of alignment physical body with their energy system.,
The out of alignment energy system is in relationship to the physical body where they exist synchronistically prior to a discombobulating experience. To explain further, normally and prior to their experience, the physical body resides and is within the oval or egg-shape of what most people understand as the auric field. Post the stronger level of experiences, there is a separation or lack of synchronicity with the physical body and the energy system.
This means when there is a strong intervention from an NDE, OBE, contactee experience, or spiritual transformative experience the physical body and energy system are no longer aligned. This is the feeling of disconnection. The physical body is next to the person’s entire energy system or said differently the energy system is no longer in synch with the physical body so there is a discontinuity that interrupts the previous synchronous alignment.
Consider the energy system is a component of our knowing and spirit and goes with us when we no longer have a physical body. This helps to understand what has occurred in a strong experience of separation. Healing the separation and restoring alignment takes time through integration. Surrounding circumstances of support are aids to the reintegration.
An NDE results in a strong and significant separation, especially in the beginning. Contactee experiences and some OBE’s also have this effect. The separation can be the need to take a break from the chaos of external values, politics, superficial settings, being around too many people, or a need to become reclusive for a time. The person feels separated from the values and motivations that are no longer meaningful. There is separation from the life that was lived prior to their experience because they are changed.
The restoration of alignment with the energy system and the physical body occurs slowly. The person adjusts as they redefine themselves, related to their experience and the world. Adjustments occur as they recuperate and integrate through their thoughts, emotions, into and through the physical and etheric components that comprise our whole beings. Specific methods for reintegrating aid the person to reestablish their physical body and energy system alignment.
How are Experiences Deepening our Understanding of Ourselves, Our Purpose, and Evolution?
Our transformation is occurring when we share about near-death experiences, intuitive or psychic experiences, dreams that seem more real than life, out-of-body experiences, spiritual transformative experiences, awakenings, experiences with someone who has passed or is passing, kundalini experiences, and contactee experiences. Another way we are collectively transforming is thorough conversations, clarifications, and valuing these experiences within ourselves and listening to others. We develop compassion, and glean and integrate the changes into our psyche as the soul’s journey of illumination and awakening. We are gaining permission to speak about, heal, resolve, value, and expand from these experiences instead of suppressing them.
It is normal for people to have all the experiences even if some of them might be unfamiliar to you. People have been having experiences that go beyond ‘ordinary’ life for as long as humans have been around because they are an innate, human experiences. What near-death experiencers share is new because we now have the technology to bring people back from being close to death, but what they perceive is not new.
Human beings were never designed to stay or thrive in one level of consciousness. When people have an experience, they are changed and their consciousness changes. These other states of consciousness are not to be worshiped but successfully incorporated to elevate our awareness because we are incarnated at this time of transformation and because they have always been part of our humanness. These experiences are keys, cues, and guideposts to understanding our grander selves.
