Simultaneously, music as tone, frequency, vibration, patterns, and rhythms have been an integral part of human culture and our evolution fostering creative thinking including intuition and insight, emotional responses, and states of flow or what we would call heighted states of awareness and being in synch. What are the Benefits of Intuition
- Decision making occurs on a subconscious level or beneath our awareness and we don’t have to effort to process information
- Environmental sensing which relates to understanding beyond ordinary senses about the area in which we live
- Social interactions that include intuitive understanding applying empathy, cooperation, and altruistic behavior and that contributes to the enhancement of a group whether that group is in person, or a tribe of people composed from around the world on the internet
- Innovation, insight, problem-solving and creativity are also components of intuition as we develop methods for ourselves and for others to adapt to the changing world and how we collectively navigate through it with compassion while drawing upon higher order wisdom.
 Developing our intuition is considered a higher order cognitive ability. While some people may be more intune with their intuition everyone has the ability to identify, develop, and heighten their intuitive abilities, it is a matter of noticing, and practice.
What Stops Intuition
- Not knowing we can tap into it, develop it, and rely upon it.
- Â Staying in ordinary consciousness also known as beta brain waves which is where we experience hypervigilance, self-doubt, and fear.
- Â Other occurrences that block our intuition are not noticing it when it is occurring.
- Â Sometimes feeling if we act on our intuition it will be too far from the norm and acceptance.
- Â Negative intrusive thoughts can block intuition as well as trauma. However trauma can have two sides to our intuition. On the one hand trauma may be a method to move us from the ordinary world as a potential gateway to connect to other levels of consciousness that may include intuition, but trauma can also bind us in place in the fear responses preventing our self-trust in our intuition or insight to be accessible.
How Does Intuition Occur
Intuition is considered to be a  direct knowing, occurrence that is fast, and is a  spontaneous process. Intuition also has a feeling of rightness, sometimes a sense of relief, or a feeling of ‘settledness’ and can feel whole without any evidence that substantiates the intuitive knowing. And often there is an emotional connection that is excitement or strong feeling of certainty with an insight or intuitive feeling.
There are no rules of logic or analysis with intuition. And intuition often occurs when a person isn’t even thinking about the concern or problem, but the solution suddenly presents itself.
